Debbie Gibson: Out of the Blue"Out of the Blue" a New Super Talented Teen Idol Bursts onto the Music Scene! Debbie Gibson Will Never "Shake Our Love!"

Debbie Gibson was born to make music. By the time she was 16, she had landed her first record deal and had a collection of ten solid songs for the album that she had written. She even produced or co-produced most of the material on her debut album.

Her first single, "Only in my Dreams," was released in December of 1986, remixed and officialy re-released in February of 1987. The song was a huge hit and peaked at number 4 on the Billboard Hot 100 Chart.

"Out of the Blue," her debut album, was released on August 18, 1987, (just 13 days for Debbie's 17th Birthday). The stellar production of the album, the well-written songs, both up-tempo and ballards would launch Debbie into full teen idol status and land her a place in pop-music history.

Michael Jackson: ThrillerThe G.O.A.T. of 80's Music... Michael Jackson's "Thriller" Changes The Industry Forever!

Michael Jackson was already a bonafide music star, thanks to his childhood as a performer with his brothers in the super group "The Jackson Five," and a moderately successful solo career, when his album "Thriller" was released on November 29, 1982. The first single, "The Girl is Mine" had been released 6 weeks earlier and was already climbing the charts where it eventually peaked at Number 2 on Billboard's Hot 100 Chart.

Six more songs would be released in total, including the smash hits "Billie Jean," "Beat it," "Thriller," and "Wanna Be Startin' Somethin'." All seven of the album releases would make it into the Top 10. "Billie Jean" and "Beat it" made it all the way to the top spot.

With MTV being born just the year before, "Thriller's" release, Michael Jackson was one of the first artists to embrace the age of music videos and the visual representation of his music opened him up to a whole new world of fans. The incredible collection of songs (9 tracks total) and the amazing mini-movie music videos from the album, launched Michael into a superstar status that has rarely been duplicated. The success of the well-made album would set new standards in the music industry and raise the bar for other artists.

Family TiesIt Was "The Ties" That Bound Us to Family Sitcoms in the 80's. "Family Ties" Made Millions of Us Wish Our Family Was Like the Keatons!

"Family Ties" was a typical 80's family sitcom that balanced the weight of current social topics with the humor shared by families that tease each other, but love each other more. The show had an amazing cast with the parents played by Michael Gross, Meredith Baxter and their eldest children played by Michael J. Fox, Justine Bateman and Tina Yothers. Notable guest stars like Tom Hanks, Courtney Cox, Daphne Zuniga, and Timothy Busfield can be found in an episode or two.

The premise of the show largely centered around the shift from the free-spirited hippie days of the country and how the parents were raised to the more conservative "Reagan Era." Fox's character, Alex, was a die-hard Republican, much to the chagrin of his more liberal parents. Tough discussions and hard lesson to learn for all Keaton children was often coated in knowing that they were loved by their parents no matter what.

"Family Ties" would run for seven seasons and be a bonafide hit for NBC!
